artists in residency

Bring a MOCHA Teaching Artist directly into your school, whether in-school, after-school, or summer, from a few weeks to a full year. We design the lessons, bring the supplies, and manage the program from start to finish, built around what your students and staff need.

This program includes: a professional Teaching Artist, custom lesson design, supplies, and full program management — plus optional support for family art nights and school exhibitions.

Residencies use clay, sculpture, printmaking, book arts, and collaborative projects, tied to California Visual Art Standards and adaptable to language arts, science, and math units. Every residency is built to support constructive communication, creative thinking, confidence, and collaboration.

  • Lessons are typically centered around a specific topic and can be customized to highlight a class project or curriculum unit that may support language arts, social science, science and mathematics curricula and are tied to the California State Visual Art Standards.

  • MOCHA supports students with limited abilities to express a range of ideas and emotions.

  • Students participating in MOCHA programs gain skills in: constructive communication, creative and critical thinking, confidence and collaboration.
