In the Spirit of Creativity Exhibition

Join us for the Gallery Opening of our "In the Spirit of Creativity" exhibition featuring the imaginative and ingenious works of elementary school youth shown as a result of our partnership with Oakland Unified School District, supported in part by Assistance for Arts Education (AAE) funding through the U.S. Department of Education. TK-5th grade students from Laurel, Oakland Academy of Knowledge, Bridges at Melrose, and Madison Park have been working with MOCHA Teaching Artists throughout the school year to understand the elements of art. They have created an array of projects based on their new skills. Projects including self-portraits, 3-D art, and pieces inspired by the great artists will be featured in the show. Their projects have been showcased in the hallways of their schools and now will be displayed at MOCHA.
