About
Community Futures School is a MOCHA program in partnership with Met West High School, based on a variety of concepts with a focus on AfroFuturism. Through this program students learn to forecast the future to help them be futurist thinkers. The students examine different cultures, including Queer, Indigenous, LantinX, African and African American Culture. The exhibition will feature artwork created by high school students, future forecasting of what Oakland will look like in 2045. A variety of projects will be represented including: Futuristic Portraits, Dioramas, Spirit Bowl Project, Scanning and Prototypes. In these projects, students present ideas about how they want to see the future with methods to solve social justice issues.
