Overall Job Description
|
The Museum of Children’s Art operates a
children’s art gallery and studio, as well as a number of outreach programs
in the schools and community. In combination these programs serve approximately
25,000 children annually. MOCHA currently has several programs that take
place in the gallery/studio six days per week. These include the exhibitions,
classes, camps, workshops, a field trip program, an open studio program,
facility rentals and birthday parties. The
Greeter is responsible for:
- The appearance and functions of the Front
Desk "hub" of MOCHA's main entrance
- Logistical support of a variety of weekend
art programs and projects under the direction of the Weekend Manager

Position Responsibilities
|
- Running The Hub. Staffing and
maintaining MOCHA's main entrance, which is the first point of contact
for Museum visitors. Handle incoming phone calls and transfer as appropriate.
Greet visitors and guide them to gallery and studio programs. Manage
sign-in and sign-outs for art classes and workshops. Track gallery and
studio attendance. Stock and organize
current museum literature and publications.
- Logistical Support of Weekend Programs.
Working with Weekend Manager, provide assistance in the setup and
coordination of programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:
|
- Kindness and friendliness
- Ability to interact with a diverse group
of children and adults and create a welcoming environment.
- Ability to speak more than one language
highly desirable, but not required
[currently seeking bilingual Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Southeast
Asian language speakers]
- Customer service experience with telephone,
voicemail and e-mail systems
- Ability to learn office technologies
- Ability to enjoy being around children
and promoting the arts
