LINE LESSONS
monoprint: grades K-3
Printmaking: Tinfoil Mono-Print
Students will experience the technique of making a mono-print using tin foil and Q-tips and will create several prints from their print plate. Students will view several examples of prints from different artists.

etching: grades 3-6
Block Printing in Styrofoam
Students experience the technique of etching a print block. They also view examples of block prints from different cultures, and print multiple copies from their print block.

COLOR LESSONS
primary color mixing: grades K-2
Color Mixing with Two Primary Colors
Students enter a scientific process as they predict, experiment and discuss what happens when two primary colors are mixed. Students create a color collage-painting.

color wheel-primary: grades 2-3
color wheel-secondary: grades 4-8 Color mixing the Color Wheel
Students enter a scientific process to identify and mix the primary, secondary, intermediate colors of the color wheel.

hot & cool colors: grades 2-8
Hot and Cool Colors using Oil Pastel
Students understand colors can convey feeling and personality. Students oil pastels to create compositions with hot and cool color pallets.

SHAPE LESSONS
clay sculpture: grades 2-6 Clay- Pinch pots
Students will be introduced to earth clay and experience creating a pinch pot. Creating a pinch pot is an ancient process and is a valuable technique used for the beginner as well as the advanced potter.

recycled sculpture: grades K-8
Three Dimensional Shape Sculpture
Students will understand that they can create sculptures or architecture structures out of recycled materials that are examples of three dimensional shapes. Students will look at buildings outside and identify the shapes they see.

sponge printing: grades K-3
Sponge Printing
Students understand that a print can be made with a variety of objects including potatoes, wood, rubber. They also view example ways in which artists have used a printing technique to create patterns

collage portraiture: grades K-3
Paper Collage Self Portrait
Students understand shape vocabulary and categories. Students view examples of portraits and cut shapes to create a self portrait collage.

paint/ink portraiture: grades 3-8
Portrait Drawing in Pencil, Ink and Paint
Students learn correct proportions for drawing human faces. Students use proportional guidelines to create a portrait drawing

charcoal still life: grades 3-8
Still Life Value Study in Charcoal
Students understand the concept of value (shades of light and dark). They observe and draw a still life using shadows and light to reveal the 3 dimensional shapes
