Looking for a fun and enriching art experience for your students? Take a field trip to MOCHA! Who can come? School groups from preschools through middle schools and other groups, such as parent groups and afterschool programs, are welcome!   How much will it cost? Field trips cost $100 per visit. The maximum number of children we can accommodate is 30. Cancellations will be refunded only if the school teacher or parent representative calls 48 hours before the appointed time.   So what happens when I bring my group to MOCHA? Your class will participate in an interactive art lesson led by a professional artist, and have a guided tour of the current exhibit. Educators will receive a field trip packet with ideas to make your MOCHA visit more enriching. The packet contains activities to prepare students for the field trip, and lessons to extend their MOCHA art experience into other subject areas, such as math, science or language arts. All of the lessons are developmentally appropriate and based on the California Visual Arts Standards.   What will we do in the studio with the MOCHA artist? During MOCHA Field Trips students are actively engaged in creative learning experiences using developmentally appropriate art lessons. Lessons are open-ended and process oriented. Prior to your visit, educators will be choose a lesson based on one of the building blocks of art: Line, Color, Shape, Texture or Space. Every lesson is designed to provide students a fun educational experience, allowing each child to express themselves through art.   What are the lessons I can choose from? Additional fee of $15 for custom art lessons. When can we come to MOCHA for a field trip? Field trips are scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday and Friday at the following times: 9:30am to 11:00am 11:30am to 1:00pm 1:30pm to 3pm and by special arrangement in the afternoons During the summer months, field trips can only be scheduled on wednesdays, 10-11:30am or noon-1:30pm.
